A Bread and Pie Sale sponsored by the Altar and Rosary Society will be held after all Masses the weekend of November 17th & 18th. Everyone in the parish is invited to donate items for this sale. Bread and pies may be brought to McCabe Hall before all Masses on that weekend.
You are cordially invited to celebrate a Eucharistic Banquet of Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 22nd at 9 AM at Holy Family church! The Genesis Choir and Holy Family Choristers will participate. Please bring a non-perishable food item to replenish our local food pantries. The food will be brought up to the altar during the presentation of gifts. Our parish family liturgy will be a great way to begin Thanksgiving Day.
All Church of the Holy Family parishioners – ages 55 and over – are invited to lunch served by our 6th – 8th grade Faith Formation students. This luncheon will be held at noon on Monday, November 12th in McCabe Hall. Please RSVP to 785-4581 or email@example.com by November 9th. Please come so we can thank you for your service to our church, community and country.
The Garden Ministry is asking that parents please supervise their children’s behavior when visiting the Garden. Please refrain from allowing them to run through the flower beds, climb on the statue and remembrance plaques, or stand on the benches. While we encourage all to visit, please remember that the Garden was always intended to be a place of quiet remembrance and respect. We appreciate your consideration in this matter.
Please use extreme caution in the parking lot on Sunday morning as there are over 200 students coming and going. Students in grades 3-5 MUST be signed out in McCabe hall. Students in grades 6-8 who are not going to 11:00 AM Mass and who do not have a younger sibling will be dismissed via the door by the chapel. Minutes of the October 4th Parish Pastoral Council meeting are posted on the bulletin board in the church vestibule. Also, copies are available in the vestibule pamphlet rack as well as in the church office.
Bags of food for Thanksgiving are due back at the church by November 11th.
Thanks to all who contributed to the Winter Clothing Drive. It was one of our most successful ever. In addition to the volume of clothing, the number of winter coats and the amount of winter bedding were especially large. The sorting area at Cincinnatus was filled. Thanks also the volunteers who loaded all the donated clothing onto the van that transported them to Cincinnatus.
An Autumn Tea, sponsored by the Ladies Guild, will be held on Sunday, November 11 at 6 pm in the social hall. John Tobias will entertain us with a music medley. Come and enjoy the company of old friends, make some new friends, and simply enjoy yourself. Please contact Ann at 754-8727 to reserve your spot.
The Widows and Widowers Group will meet on Thursday, November 8 at 1 pm in Room 2. Our speaker will be Kathy Tulloch, Medicare Manager, who is with Action for Older Persons. November is the Month of All Souls. A Mass of Remembrance will take place on Friday, November 2 at 7 pm. At this time we will especially honor our parishioners and relatives of parishioners who have entered eternal life this past year October 2011-October 2012. If you would like a deceased relative remembered at this Mass, please call the parish office with his or her name. A time of gathering and refreshment will follow in McCabe Hall. All are invited…
