Faith Formation 2016 – Catechists Wanted!

After this the Lord appointed 70 others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go.  He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Luke 10:1-2

Dear Friends,

I hope you are having a peaceful, restful and wonderful summer!  We are getting ready for another year of Faith Formation, and I am seeking  new catechists!

Our program inspires and nurtures a love for Christ and his teachings because of the dedication and commitment of those who volunteer to share their faith with the youth of our parish.  To accommodate the number of youth registered, we must enlist the help of more Confirmed Catholics!  Even though our personal schedules may already be full, we need to make a commitment to our youth to teach and empower them on their faith journey.  To fulfill our Sacramental promises we are called to foster the Catholic faith in others.  Please consider helping the youth while enriching your own  adult faith formation!

The format will remain the same as it was last year, except for the Confirmation Program (9th and 10th grade) which is currently being revised.

Please contact me with your choice of grade level and the subject you would like to facilitate.

Grade choices:     K & 1st  and 7 & 8     or     3 & 4 and 5 & 6   Reconciliation & Eucharist     Confirmation(9/10)

Subject choices (Not for 1st Sacraments): Saints & Sacraments, Bible Stories,           Morality, Catholic Social Teaching & Service     or      Liturgy, Art & Music

In the words of St. Teresa of Avila:

“Christ has no body now on earth but yours,

No hands but yours,

No feet but yours,

Yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion is to look out to the earth,

Yours are the feet by which He is to go about doing good

And yours are the hands by which He is to bless us now.”

I look forward to hearing from you soon.  I would like to have catechists set by the end of August.

God bless you all,
