The Faith Formation Rosaries for Newtown project was a great success!
The students and their families made 1750 rosaries in less than a month – exceeding the goal of 1500. Once the rosaries were completed, they were each placed into a gift bag along with a “How to Say the Rosary Pamphlet,” and a letter from our students. There are enough to give one to each Faith Formation & Catholic School student at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Newtown, CT. One of our teachers, Jackie Hennessey, will take them when she goes home to Newtown for Easter and give them to her mother who runs the Faith Formation program there. Her mother will then distribute them to all the children in the parish.
Interestingly, our Lenten project took nearly 1000 hours – right about 40 days of effort.
