The St. Francis Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) happily shares the news of our upcoming professions. Craig Miller of St. Francis of the Assisi Church, George Meyerhauser of St. Agnes Church, Paul Cannavino of St. Anthony of Padua Church, and Roger and Theresa Congdon of Church of the Holy Family will make a permanent commitment to the Gospel Life as they profess into the Secular Franciscan Order.
The Rite of Profession will take place during a Mass at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church, 146 Clinton St., Binghamton at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 9. Rev. Corey VanKuren will be the celebrant.
At their profession the candidates promise to follow the Rule of Life of the Secular Franciscan Order, pledging themselves to live the Gospel in the manner of St. Francis by means of this Rule. The Rule calls Secular Franciscans to live out their calling to the Franciscan life in a particular way in their homes and families, at work, in their parishes, and in the world.
